Newmar Unveils New Diesel Pusher Products
Released April 5, 2006
NAPPANEE, Ind.—Newmar Corporation, the Indiana-based manufacturer of high quality Class A motorhomes and fifth wheels, introduced its Diesel Pusher product line-up for the 2007 model year at FMCA's 75th International Rally in Pomona, California March 20-23, 2006.
"Newmar is extremely excited about the advanced designs and innovations being featured in our 2007 model year diesel products," said John Sammut, Newmar's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Our company felt very strongly that there was no better place to introduce the new diesel line-up to the public than at FMCA's International Rally in Pomona."
Newmar debuted its fully-redesigned Mountain Aire Diesel Pusher, which features Comfort Drive Steering System as standard equipment.
"It is our belief that Comfort Drive Steering will revolutionize the diesel motorhome market," states Sammut. "It is the most significant development in the motorhome chassis market since the creation of the diesel pusher chassis."
Comfort Drive Steering is an intelligent steering system (developed by TRW) that decreases driver fatigue often associated with operating a typical diesel motorhome over long distances. It also aids a driver to maintain a straight path by compensating for cross-winds and crowns in the road. Comfort Drive creates a positive on-center feel which reduces parking efforts and improves reversibility when backing up a motorhome. Newmar Corporation has a two-year exclusive on this innovative technology with TRW and Spartan Chassis, Inc. through the end of the 2008 model year. Comfort Drive Steering is available on Newmar's London Aire Diesel Bus, the Essex Diesel Pusher, and the Mountain Aire Diesel Pusher.
The new 2007 Mountain Aire Diesel Pusher is built on a Spartan K2 chassis powered by a 450 horsepower Cummins ISM engine. Seven tag axle floorplans are available ranging in lengths from 41' to 45'. The exterior is constructed with a one-piece bonded windshield, redesigned front and rear caps, and taller baggage compartment doors.
The Mountain Aire's heating system has been upgraded to hydronic heat and three 15K Penguin heat pump central air conditioners are standard on the 45' floorplans. Other standard features in the new 2007 product include a 10 kW PowerTech generator, a 32" flatscreen LCD TV in the living area, a Dometic 13.8 Cu. Ft. stainless steel refrigerator, a stainless steel microwave, and a 23" LCD TV in the bedroom.
A completely redesigned recessed ceiling with mood lighting, halogen lighting, and hidden vents give the interior of the coach its high-end look. In addition, interior features include Villa furniture, a polished Corian backsplash with listel ceramic tile inlay, polished porcelain ceramic flooring, and hardwood unitized cabinets with full overlay doors and drawers that feature residential-style full-extension ball-bearing drawer guides.
The 2007 Mountain Aire Diesel Pusher starts at a retail base price of $399,328.
